You all know that old saying, right? “The early bird gets the worm.” It’s a favorite of the yard sale crowd. But who wants worms anyway?
I’ve always been somewhat of a morning person. Well, except for those teenage years when morning meant going to school! But I have always enjoyed being up to watch the sunrise. There’s a serenity in it to me, and I love watching (and hearing) the world wake up! However, I also love sleep!
Normally I would get up around 7am if I don’t need to get up earlier. That’s just my rhythm. And if I don’t get up and out of bed when I wake up (when I wake up and am awake, not still sleepy and groggy) then I will be tired and dragging ass all day! I know this about me. So when I wake up in the morning at 7am, I get up so I won’t have a miserable day!
Well ever since my episode, my wake time has been getting earlier and earlier! I set my coffee machine to auto-start at 6:30 because I was getting up before 7am. I would get up around the time J left for work. But lately, for the past 2 weeks or so, I have been having to turn my coffee maker on myself! Why? Because I have been up with J! Or before him. I’ve been waking up somewhere between 5 and 6am! And for the past 2 days I have woken up at around 4:40am (but I don’t get up cause that is just ridiculous!)
One day I tried to sleep longer. I got up when J left at 0630. But then I didn’t get down stairs until around 7am (after getting ready for the day) and I felt like my whole morning was going in fast forward! It was 9am before I knew it and I had not gotten anything done! I felt like my whole morning was wasted! Geese!
So now my coffee machine is set to turn on at 6am…
I am going to be screwed when daylight savings time kicks in!

I love the mornings in the spring and summer..when I have the windows open..I can hear the Robins singing..and it's still dark..now..it's quiet..with an occasional cow mooing…and IT'S DARK!If I wake up early now a days…I always check to see if you have posted anything..ya..I'm stalking you! :-0). I'm having a cup of coffee with you this am (in my VA cup)..sometimes it's with Kelly…I need to get a “Jen” cup! :-)I like to go do my outside “work” in the mornings..sometimes it isn't until 10:30..which sucks because of other “obligations” I need for myself, make sure are OK before I step out the door..If I stay in the house, I tootle around..trying to accomplish something..but Garry usually occupies all my time inside..I have to be thankful for that though, because someday..I won't have that privilege of having him “around”But winter is sadly knocking on the door..and the early mornings are going to be peering out the window..yearning for Spring to arrive..Good Morning!

Good morning! Almost afternoon for you! I am definitely a morning person. It's my time to get everything done around the house before having to go to work or run errands if it's my day off. If I haven't got a handle on things by 10 am (on a day off), I feel as if my whole morning was wasted! I'm also the same as you with waking up. Once I'm up, I'm up for the day. Maybe with an occasional nap. 🙂
