Well hello hello! Has it been forever since my last post? It sure does feel like it! I promised myself I would get better…I have yet to start.
Welcome to my new blog! Well, new layout anyway! It’s a funny thing…I have not decided what direction to take this blog in yet. Or even if I am going to take it anywhere! But apparently I have decided that where ever it goes, or doesn’t go, it needed a new, pretty, streamlined layout! Take a look around! Try out the new features! Visit the Home Page to see the new photo slider, and check out the slider at the bottom of the page! ⇊ Now you can search posts by labels, or put a key word in the search box! I’ve also added share buttons so you can easily share a post! I hope you like it!
The web address is also new! If you have noticed, I lost the “blogspot” and have my own web address! I’m moving up in the world! 🙂
This address change may mean that you will have to re-follow my blog if you followed it before. I’m not sure. I can’t test it out to see if you will still get notifications with the new web address. If anyone notices, please let me know!
And now, I would like to take this time to talk to you about a very serious matter. Very serious indeed!
Cookie Jars!
Yep, that’s it. I was thinking about what to fill my candy jar with that is not candy or carbs, (if you can figure that out, let me know!) and it got me to thinking about cookie jars. Growing up in our house, we always had a cookie jar. Always. And at one point, I’m pretty sure there were two! My mom did not always make homemade cookies, but she did buy cookies and put them in the cookie jar. I never EVER remember seeing a box or bag or package of cookies in the cupboard or pantry. If she bought cookies, then went in the cookie jar and the packaging was tossed in the garbage.
One would think with that kind of influence in my life it might be a practice for me as well.
I have never owned a cookie jar! I am 15+ years of living in my own house and have never owned a cookie jar! And my husband has never questioned it. And I have never even thought about it or missed it. Until yesterday.
So it got me to wondering…are cookie jars next? Are they the next piece of our childhood that is going to be phased out as old-fashioned nostalgia? Butter dishes as well. When was the last time I saw a butter dish that was not made of plastic and purchased in a grocery store? With this new wave of decorating to have homes staged to perfection, with minimal personal photos and clear counters, the poor poor cookie jar is sadly being forgotten. My poor cookies don’t even know the thrill of being free from their plastic confines to enjoy the feel of ceramic on their crumbly surface! How could I do that to them!! Ug! I feel like a horrible cookie buyer right now. I think I need to go buy a cookie jar! Right now!!
Chime in! do you still use a cookie jar? I’d love to know! I’d also love to see your cute ones! My mom’s is a black and white cow that has a light sensor in the top. It moos when it’s opened! haha!

You'd have to post it on the Facebook post! 🙂

Yep…I still have the ole cow cookie jar. I looked into it today..and it's empty! Oh no! I also have another we found of a dog, sort of like the dog that is advertised for Target..it has a blue kerchief on it's neck. I was going to donate it to Good Will, but it's still on my counter..and has catnip in it..LOL….Kallies candy! 😉 I put batteries in the cow cookie jar and it mooed off the bat..the little sensor is broke, but that is ok. I've put my Laurabars in them..As for a butter dish..I have a Rooster one..of course..but it's in the china cabinet. If/when we have butter, I have a plastic container I put it in.Looks like you and Jen need to put your cookie jars and butter dishes of choice on your wish lists!
