Pinky's Workout Playlist– Just the Essentials

Who has a workout playlist? *raises hand*

Who filled that playlist with all of their favorite fast songs? *raises hand*

Who gets irritated that you are constantly skipping songs on the playlist to get to the “good ones”? *raises hand

Truth– not all fast songs are good for working out! I hate when I get in a groove and some song starts thumping into my ears and totally throws me off! Yes it’s fast, and probably a song that I love, but it takes a special kind of song to really push me in a workout!

I need songs that make me angry. Or make me want to dance. Or make me want to sing at the top of my voice!!

Yes, I would be the girl dancing on the elliptical machine. Which is why I work out at home!

And today on the treadmill, I skipped at least 3 songs! I vowed to clean out my workout playlist leaving only those songs that really push me! I scaled back from over 6 hours of listening pleasure, to just over 2!

Felt good to finally loose some weight! 😉

So here is my essential playlist! These are my music preferences. There is a little of almost every genre, and these are the songs that really get my blood pumping!

32 of them. Not going to list them here, but you can find the whole playlist here: Essential Workout.

What are some of your essentials?

  1. Dang! That's a really good playlists! At first, I was going to just scroll thru the songs and see what you had, but I kept listening to more and more and next thing I know, the playlist had repeated itself a few times! 😬 Until recently, I never even thought about listening to music while working out. Not sure why, but it seemed like a strange concept to me! And then I tried it out and realized how much more enjoyable working out could actually be. Although, I did find myself skipping song after song to find just the right one. That was rather annoying. Will definitely have to do some organizing so that it's all songs I would love to hear!

  2. I'm assuming it was repeating while you were doing other things? Not just sitting there listening? lol! My giant 6 hour playlist is full of songs I love to hear, but not all of them are motivating. You will only know if it helps when you play it while you are working out. That's how I got this list. Years and years of the same songs, just adding news ones here and there, and I know which ones helped and which ones I skipped! It's also a great playlist for cleaning house! Gets you moving! 😉

  3. Yeah, definitely on repeat. I've actually bookmarked it to my computer so when I'm just playing around on the computer, or cleaning house, I usually just turn that on and have it for my background noise. 🙂
