BodyRocking in the House Tonight…

:Did you sing my title? I did! lol! If you don’t have any idea what I’m talking about, you can get in on the joke here

I have been following/subscribed to BodyRock on their website and on Facebook for a while now. In case you haven’t discovered, BodyRock is a workout website that offers videos of HIIT (high-intensity interval training) workouts that you can do from your own home with minimal equipment and in minimal time. Think Crossfit at home, or Insanity but in a much shorter time (like 15 minutes. Anyone has 15 minutes right?) You can do it anywhere you have an internet connection, and at any time of the day. Oh, and the best part…its FREE!!! If you are new to HIIT, you can watch the 12 minute madness video. Looks easy, right? Ha ha!

So why am I telling you all this? BodyRock has a 30-day challenge that begins today, and yours truly is going to partake! I have decided that watching them sweat is not going to help me loose weight, so I am going to try this 30-day challenge and hope I don’t die! Since leaving the AF 4 years ago (wow, can’t believe it’s only been 4 years!) I haven’t exactly kept up with the 5x/week workout sessions of my military days! 😉 I have done some working out sporadically… Power 90 I did for a while, and my Pilates, treadmill, and exercise bike…but nothing that I’ve really stuck to, and nothing intense since my surgery (almost 2 years now!). I know I won’t be able to do the workouts like they do. I will probably be a sloppy mess and be flat on my back praying for air when I am supposed to be doing an interval of burpees, but I figure putting forth the effort is half the battle! I am hoping that my body remembers all those years of working out and allows me to adapt quicker. I’m not good with sticking to programs, but I think I can handle 30 days. I follow Lisa-Marie on Facebook and she (and her thousands of followers) offer motivation and encouragement to keep me going. Also, this program was designed to slowly add in changes each week, instead of bombarding you with them all at once, so hopefully it will be more doable! 30 days is all I have to do (for now)! If you are interested in joining me, the links are below and Lisa-Marie’s introduction to the 30-day challenge is here. Watch the video, subscribe on Facebook or follow the website. She will post the workout and whatever else to her page, as well as it being posted to the website. I’m scared, but I’ve got my interval timer and vision boards all ready to go! Wish me luck!!

Zukana Light was the co-founder of BodyRock and she left to do her own thing. It’s very similar…but just her. Maybe more intimate and more personal. She also offers more nutrition and recipes. You can get her workouts on her YouTube channel and website at the following: http://www.youtube.com/user/ZuzkaLight

Well, looks like I will be starting tomorrow since the videos have not been posted yet. :/

Update: I did the fit test and that shit was hard!! I am so out of shape…I couldn’t even finish the 12 rounds! I was sprawled on the floor after 7 with no hope of catching my breath in 5 10-second rest breaks…let alone one! So this is going to become a goal. I will start sloooower…on my treadmill and bike, and doing some strength training as well, with the goal that I will be able to participate in the next 30-day challenge!

  1. Ummmm….INSANE!!! You really trying to tell me that sitting on the couch with my bowl of ice cream while watching Biggest Loser ISN'T going to help me lose weight???? Or just watching these people exercise won't help either? CRAP!!!! Those look like some crazy good work outs and I know you can do it! As for me, I think those ninja jump tucks will leave me curled up in a fetal position and the burpees will have me flat on my face! Ha ha! And to watch that guy, with his physique, get worn out from a few of those exercises kind of leaves me scared for myself to do them! LOL. And that super rock body chick with like 50 pack abs is insane! She doesn't even break a sweat or gasp for air once! WOW!!! I'm inspired and scared for my life all at once when I think of me doing those workouts. But it's only 12 minutes, right??? I'll let you know if I start any of those when I get back on my wagon. I'm already gasping for air…lol.

  2. LMAO! You can go are your own pace! They do burpees faster than I ever would I'm sure! It's not that bad, and you can take longer breaks if needed…just have to finish! Plus there are modifications to the moves. This video that you watched doesn't show them, but the videos for the challenge does. I still haven't started. I was going to start today but I don't want to take another shower (from being sweaty). lol!
