Winner Winner Easter Dinner!

Over the past many weeks, I have slowly been going through my house…looking in all the nooks and crannies, sifting through what I have to have and what I can live without. It has come to my attention that I hold on random stuff! Okay, I already knew that. With this move looming over my head, I am trying to downsize and get rid of everything that is just there to take up space! Some of my problem, and what takes up my space, are items that I keep because I like them, or MIGHT use them in the future, that have have NEVER BEEN USED! I was just going to throw them all in a garage sale, but I thought, why not have a contest and give them away!
Great idea! I mean, who doesn’t like to get free stuff right? And it will clear up some room for me to start a new collection of crap that I don’t need or use! 😀 So, up for you winning pleasure today is this adorable cosmetics case from Benefit with a sample of POREfessional face primer! Great gift or what?!! I love this primer, which is why I hoard it… and I have like four bottles, which is why I can spare a sample bottle!

So the contest…since it’s Easter, I thought we would go with your most memorable or favorite Easter memory! Anything you want…recent or remote! Post it in the comments below (Facebook posts will not be counted!). My Blogger metrics tell me that most people visit my blogs the day of, or the day after I write them, so we will let this contest go until tomorrow 3pm MST. So, start time– now! End time–Monday Apr 1 (April Fool’s Day!) 3pm MST. I will love reading your posts! But to make it fair and impartial  I will use the list randomizer from Random.org to pick the winner. I will announce the winner on the blog in an update, and message the winner personally (so make sure I have a way to contact you!)

Now, to make this more interesting, every friend you can get to come here and leave their favorite Easter memory (and make sure they say who sent them! ;)) will get their name added into the drawing, and the name of who send them will get a second input! Make sense…your name in the list twice…or 3 times…or 4 times..or as many times as you have friends! So…1. write your memory, 2. invite your friends to share theirs, 3. make sure they say you sent them, and 4. check back tomorrow to see who won! Yay, fun!

As for my favorite memory, it was growing up in Melrose…we would start the morning searching for our Easter baskets in the most imaginative places! There was always a little gift, and often it was a piece of jewelry that had our birthstone in it. We would always get a new Easter dress, go to Easter service at our church, then go to my grandma’s house for an Easter egg hunt wherein we would make my dad hide the same eggs a dozen times!

Ha ha…We were a gangly bunch, but we were happy! And man did I love that dress! (that’s me in the middle) 🙂

Thanks to the 2 people who participated! Sheesh! 20 people viewed and 2 people played. Wow! Congrats to Amy for winning!

  1. From Jeremy “My best memory was easter egg hunting at the city park. Everyone would run as fast as they could to try and find the hard-boiled eggs with numbers on them. I know why would little kids fight over hard-boiled eggs with numbers on them. Well I will tell you…you would take them to the shelter house for prizes and money instead of candy. Don't get me wrong the plastic eggs with candy were good, but the prizes and money were better. You don't need to put my name in the drawing because if I win we won't get rid of anything.”

  2. It's funny that you wrote that as your favorite Easter memory, because it is mine too. I can still remember exactly how I felt every Easter morning. The adventure of searching for the baskets, the excitement once we found them and getting the gift inside. Putting on our pretty Easter dresses (that's me on the right) and heading to church. Then off to Grandma's for an Easter egg hunt. It was so much fun searching for all of the eggs. I can still remember the feel of the crisp morning air and even when I come across a certain smell, it reminds me of those very same mornings. Over the years, I've even woken up in the morning and stated that it feels like Easter morning and that memory is what I am referring to. Such a happy place in my life! :)As of this morning, I have a new favorite Easter morning memory that I will cherish for the rest of my life. My boyfriend of seven years proposed to me this morning! He left a note in my Easter basket saying that my Easter gift is in an Easter egg, hiding somewhere in the house and to not open it until I see it first. I thought it's either some REALLY good chocolate, or possibly some earrings or a necklace. After two hours of searching, I found it. He got down on one knee, proposed and I said yes! After seven years, it was completely unexpected and is the best Easter gift a girl can have!Happy Easter!

  3. I'm gonna say my most memorable, but not pleasant, will be today. Both baby girls acting as pukey princesses & me feeling as though my head is in a vice. Good thing Lilly doesn't even know what Easter is yet nor does she know about days of the week yet. So…we'll be hiding eggs tomorrow. Hopefully. Cute dress, fyi;)
